RING SERIES

In this series of paintings abstract artist Scott Bauer chose rings to represent people. The circle is the most perfect shape in nature. This was chosen to represent the human soul. In mathematics, a circle is described using Pi, which is an irrational number. In analogous fashion, the human soul is perfect, yet irrational. He removed the center of the circle to form a ring which denotes the empty space we have inside waiting to be filled by knowledge, experience, relationships, and skills. The background of the painting describes the action the people are engaged in. The result is a fun way to describe people in action in a different and interesting way.
